Mercedes-Benz Commits to SLS AMG Successor

Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that your replacement to the outgoing Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is assured but which it won’t be coming every time soon. This statement further backs the company’s insistence that this upcoming 2016 Mercedes-Benz GT is not a replacement to this SLS AMG.

Instead, the 2016 Mercedes-Benz GT will be offered in an array of different variants aimed in taking the fight on the Porsche 911 range. While talking about the direct replacement on the SLS AMG, CEO of AMG Ola Kallenius insisted which it wants to leave a good gap between the phase-out on the SLS AMG and this introduction of its successor.

The SLS was in the last 10 years maybe the most crucial decision we made to be a performance car company, given it took the whole organisation and the brand in my view to one more level.

“That was the vehicle we really had the opportunity to start with a white sheet of paper and really do an out-and-out AMG.

“It has been hugely successful — successful beyond cures had thought at the start. If you look using a life-to-date basis that segment for the last 10-20 years has been dominated by the car perhaps with any red colour and regarding sales we have been a detailed second in that part, the 200, 000 Euro roughly entry way supersport segment. ”

Thankfully Kallenius insisted that any of us won’t have to delay 55 years for one more gullwing Classic Mercedes Benz supercar like we did through the Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing to the SLS AMG.
